Slip-over with RIBBED FRONT BAND that lies flat
This method of working a cable panel allows you to knit a jumper in virtually any size in a fine yarn.
Step-by-step instructions for this neckband can be found in Book No. 2 in the KNIT TO FINISH series, it shows how to knit and attach it on the machine; also this book features no less than 5 different methods of attaching this band by hand.

The very flattering feminine shawl collar can be worn as a hood as shown on the right. It's easy and quick to put up the hood on a cold day and it is also very chic. OR, if preferred it can be knitted shorter for a basic shawl collar.

Design 43 over a blouse
LACE and PLATING combined
Knitted in an all over lace in Milan Super Kid Mohair with gold Lame as the plating yarn giving it a SLIGHT sheen.
For the welts, cuffs and V-neckband the standard rib is replaced with a narrow Stocking Stitch Rouleaux trim which gives it an elegant, smart appearance away from the tradition. Worn here the classic way or the jazzy way with a belt.
The Yarn:
200g cone of Milan will knit this jumper but, except for extra large, you will have enough left over to knit one of the 1 x 1 ribbed scarves and/or hats featured on the Milan page.
The Pattern M 43 is available in four sizes small [medium, large, extra large] at £3.50

The Yarn: The front, back and sleeves are knitted in stocking stitch with 1 strand of MILAN and 1 strand of ROMA in matching colours. The unique V-NECK bands are also knitted in stocking stitch in single MILAN.
Yarn requirements: 250g MILAN and 200g ROMA single or double in matching colours.

There are two versions included with the pattern: -
One with the opening at the centre see above and the one with Off-Centre Opening. The back, sleeves, front bands and collar are the same for both versions.
Loose, stylish V-neck with a unique wide neckband knitted in single Milan. A smart alternative to a conventional V-neck.
The method of knitting the band, all on single bed, can be applied to part or all over for a jumper or cardigan, a coat would look especially elegant.
