This Broomstick Crochet Scarf measures 1210mm by 230mm and weights 30grams
Composition: 67% Super Kid Mohair, 25% Pam, 8% Wool
This exceptional quality, with it's fairy-tale softness and lightness, produces fantastic results for all types of knitwear for both Machine and Hand Knitting. It is suitable for all kinds of single bed stitch patterns as well as Double Bed Knitting (Design 902). Spectacular effects can be obtained with Lace, Plating, Slip and Tuck Stitch, Garter Stitch and Weaving, for suggestions see below.
The exquisite texture of this yarn permits creating from a very close knit to an extremely loose knit without loosing it's shape; ranging for Machine Knitting on a standard gauge machine from tension 3 to 10 (sleeves for Design 0304 are knitted on T10). The circular scarf below demonstrates best the versatility of this yarn - it is knitted on a standard gauge machine with only every alternate needle in working position on tension 10, it can also be knitted on every needle on a chunky machine.
Milan, in any stitch version, creates a wonderful to wear soft light but warm texture. Also, a fantastic light texture is achieved by combining one strand of MILAN with one or two strands of ROMA for both Machine and Hand Knitting - see Design 146, 105, 107, 205.
For Hand Knitting and Crochet the recommended needle size is 2.25 to 5mm. A particular favourite is 'BROOMSTICK CROCHET' below.
A popular textured stitch pattern for MILAN with Passap machines is by working over all needles with 2 x 2 pushers on front bed, working 2 rows N Tension 5 alternating with 2 rows AX Tension 5. Click here for Passap swatches.
For machine knitting a beautiful texture is obtained by applying the Plaiting technique with one end of MILAN and one or two ends of ROMA - Design 01 and Design 101; special effects and unique fabrics can be created by using matching or contrasting colours of MILAN and ROMA for a jacquard pattern Design 902. Average requirement for a jumper or cardigan is 200 gram.
Featured below are some of the patterns available for MILAN for Machine Knitting on a standard gauge machine. For Hand Knitting a separate Hand Knitting Pattern is available for Designs 52, 54, 62, 106 and 907.
Care instructions: Lukewarm hand wash and light steam pressing.
