Design 71 - TIE-FRONT JACKET

IN FIVE SIZES – 8 to 22

A stylish type of 'waterfall' front with tie-front - a very popular design.  The tie-welt is optional, it can be omitted and replaced with one button or several buttons up to somewhere half way up the front, in this case the front welt can be knitted as the back welt.

Yarn: 200g of Zadig - a fine Alpaca yarn. Unfortunately this yarn has now sold out. The good news is that it can be knitted in  MILAN - Super Kid Mohair - I have seen some excellent results. Again 200g of MILAN are required..

The Pattern: For standard gauge machines in 5 sizes 8 to 22..

at £3.50 for the PDF email attachment or the printed version plus postage for the printed version.

Who said fashion can’t be practical?

DESIGN 200 -  IS AN EASY, FASHIONABLE WRAP

FOR RELAXED SMART DAY WEAR OR FORMAL OCCASIONS

Easy to knit by hand or on a machine,

knitted in two sections and then joined at the centre back.

The light Tuck texture - over 2 stitches and 4 rows - has a simple Stocking Stitch Trim which captures the smart tone of this all-rounder.

The Pattern is available for Hand and Machine knitting (standard gauge machines without Ribber) in THREE SIZES at £3.50 each.

Yarn: One 400g cone of ROMA - EXTRA FINE Merino Wool  will knit this design.

The yarn, Nm Count 2/30, is used and supplied already wound double. For available colours please click here.

A chic match for the above Wrap or simply a versatile simple Jumper away from the run-of-the mill in ROMA EXTRA FINE Merino Wool.

Knitted in Stocking Stitch throughout with the exception of the welts which can easily be substituted with a Mock-Rib. Note the 'straight' Stocking Stitch Trim instead of a ribbed cuff, this gives the whole garment a more elegant and unconventional appearance with no extra effort. The stripes across are optional.

The Pattern, in FIVE SIZES (10 to 20), is available for Hand and Machine knitting (standard gauge single bed machines) at £3.50 each.

Yarn requirement: The yarn is used and supplied already wound double.

Main Colour: 250g ROMA, Contrast Colour: 150g ROMA.

At present the yarn can be ordered in the original colours, MC =03, CC 47, in the smaller cones required at the price of a 400g cone of £26.90 plus postage.

For other colours please click here.

Revived because of its uniqueness of the front band trim and its popularity. The beautiful texture is created using MILAN and ROMA together for Double Bed Jacquard.  The result, of combining the two contrasting yarn textures, is a unique and beautifully light fabric with the front, lower back and front band all worked in one in a texture to match the garment.

DESIGN 203  - PRACTICAL AND CHIC

That particular Cashmere blend is now sold out but the garment can also be knitted in MAESTRO or CESARI.

With exception of the welts and cuffs everything is knitted on a SINGLE BED MACHINE standard gauge, the ribs for the welts and cuffs can easily be substituted with a Mock-Rib.

The texture is achieved by working a two stitch Tuck Stitch repeat. The purl side is used as the right side but the Stocking Stitch side has also a very attractive texture. The neckband and the front bands are knitted in Stocking Stitch - for special knitting and finishing techniques of this chanel type neck see Book No.4 in the KNIT TO FINISH series.
